Now after riding up one side of Vrsic, I had to ride down the other. DAHHHH and it went something like this.
And then I came across the fountain of the river Soca. Look at this...
I could not believe the color of these Slovenian rivers, it all started in Kamnic with the Kamnicka reka and continued with Soca. Riding along I came across this waterfall in the middle of a cliff and just down the road a bunch of rafters doing what they like most.
Amazing isn't it? I continued all through the local rads and amazing scenery to my destination point of the day Kozine a small town with a good outlet store. I must point out that the weather was excellent, mild and fabulous for bike riding. Along the way I came across these.
Since the weather was getting worse as I was getting closer to Kozina, I did not take any photos. I did a bit of shopping there and the question of the moment was.... Where to go next-where am I going to spend the night. Initially I thought of sleeping in Lipica, a famous stables that raises and trains Lipicaner horses. However, Karmen's cousin told me when we were out on the town in Ljubljana that there is some horse show happening there, therefore it was wiser to go somewhere else. Well OK, after a decent lunch, I looked at the map and SAID HOW ABOUT GOING TO THE SEA? Very difficult question to answer since I LOVE the sea. I chose the city of Portoroz, a known summer vacation place. Again, following the local roads, I ended up driving by...
Not sure if it is the largest bridge of its kind in Europe, but heck it is impressive. As soon as i rode by it I started to smell the sea-pine trees, the beach... and was eager to get there ASAP.
I was not disappointed once I was there.
After getting a place to sleep for the night, I unpacked, took a shower and went for a walk around the town. Man it was awesome, not too many tourists, the sea calm, nice music following me everywhere, I could not ask for a nicer evening. Since I was quite tiered-do not forget, that morning I was in the mountains and now at the seaside, I fell asleep and slept like a log. Actually, I slept the best in Porotoroz during this whole trip.
It was time to head back to Beograd : ( Hey all nice things in life tend not to last too long. Me being how I am, the way back had to be interesting as well.
Since I wanted to make some time, I decided to take the side roads-B roads only partially and then blast on the highway. I had to pass by that viaduct again.
I decided to make two stops on my way back home to Belgrade. Both places I visited with my parents long time ago and was eager to see them again and refresh my memories. We are talking about two castles: Otocec ob Krki and Mokrice, both on my way and near the Slovenian-Croatian border. It felt great, look at what I mean.
Otocac was followed by Mokrice.
Again, I had to sit down, relax and gather my thoughts before continuing the trip. No better way to do it then with tasting the local delicacy in the proper surrounding.
After "refueling" and soaking in all the impressions, I headed off home to Beograd. The rest of the trip was boring highway riding. I did get caught by a crazy rainstorm in front of Beograd-it was a typical summer shower storm, lots of thunder and lighting-I promiss next time I will have photos of that.
That is it for now... expect more adventures from me

Here I am in another adventure
Hi my dear readers,
I have not been posting for a while-due to the fact that nothing much has been happening in my life. work-home-work and the cycle over and over again. HOWEVER this past May, I had a chance to use up my 5 days of vacation from last year. I decided to get together with my dear friends Karmen&Helder in Karmen's native Slovenia. Loved seeing them and used the opportunity to go for a kick ass ride to Vrsic pass and many more OUTSTANDING places. So here come the photos :
This is me Karmen and Helder in Kamnik a quaint city to the north of where Karmen used to live. Very picturesque and interesting.
From here we went to the nearby spring of the river Kamnica. Check the color of the water-it is amazing, cold and you can drink it from the spring.
After this memorable "pick nick" the following day, we visited Ljubljana-the capital of Slovenia. Me and Helder could not resist visiting the local DUCATI showroom and try out some hardware.
That is how the beast sounds like
That same evening we went to see Ljubljana by night and here is what it looks like.
After an amazing ride up to the summit, I rested and look how it looks like.

So after these wonderful few days with Karmen & Helder I continued my exploration by visiting two amazing lakes. Lake Bohinj and Bled. Both are well known for their beauty world wide. And as you are already accustomed to here are some photos.
It was a bit rainy, that did not dampen my spirit since I continued to head north to the well known ski resort of Kranjska Gora, a place I visited with my parents some 20 or more years ago. It looks lovely, I felt like visiting an old friend who became more mature and had some new things to show me.
I spent the evening walking around, reminiscing the times I was there and promising to myself that I will be back with company the next time around. Sleeping was amazing, I was put to bed by the chirping of birds and woken up the same way.
The following morning. I set to conquer the famous Vrsic pass, at 1611m above sea level. It was amazing to realize that less then 100 m from where I was sleeping was the road that led me to Vrsic pass. And it started like this.
After an amazing ride up to the summit, I rested and look how it looks like.
I had to sit down and gather my thoughts and impressions, made a short video-in Serbian to explain where I am going next.
This will end up mu story for today. There is much more to show and tell, so keep reading and looking, promise it would not be long till the next post.

A small adventure
Well a few days ago I had a free day=no work for me day :- ) so I decided to join a friend of mine to visit a shipyard where his sail/dive boat is being manifactured.
It started as a clowdy day a bit on the cold side but it ended up being quite a nice day. The place is outside Belgrade near the town of Obrenovac. Who would thing they make ships in a village??? Anyway, since I had never been to a shipyard, this trip was interesting. We went there by bus since to get in the car costs $$$ and by bus we can chat and even take a napp. It takes approxx 1 hour and a half to get there. We spent a good 6-7 hours there and after getting back to Belgrade we were hungry like wolves and since my friends wife was out of town we made crazy delicious pasta with tuna and green beans. Jami jami, too bad i did not take pictures. So here you are another adventure. Simple and to the point as well as proving you do not have to have a whole lot of stuff to have fun. A interesting project, good friends and some good food.
Till next time
